Director, SC Operations, SCRA/SC LaunchGreg Hillman is a member of SC Launch, a collaborative of SCRA, where he is responsible for facilitating applied research, product development and commercialization among over 150 client companies at various stages of start-up and emergence into sustainability. Mr. Hillman leads activity in preparing viable candidates in selected technical business sectors toward gaining SC Launch and external sources of private and public capital. Since late 2007, Mr. Hillman has reviewed hundreds of companies interested in the program and continues to work with many of the client and portfolio companies invested through the SC Launch Program where more than $104,000,000 of external follow-on investment has been into South Carolina based companies.
Greg’s professional background includes experience in technical, executive and general management positions with EDS, Computer Sciences Corporation’s Consulting Division, DuPont’s Photopolymer and Electronic Materials SBU and, Nortel North America. As CEO and a co-founder of Integrated Business Solutions (IBS), Inc., a Memphis, TN systems integrator, Hillman’s team pioneered digital imaging and manufacturing systems control processes and developed a series of telecom and cellular business systems applications that became industry standards. Greg applied IBS resources jointly with investor Aetna Capital Ventures and Federal Express in defining corporate mentoring programs in support of economic development efforts in Tennessee. Mr. Hillman was director with Boston based Appex LS, a Greylock Venture Capital funded company where he worked the $90m acquisition of the company by Electronic Data Systems. Greg holds an MBA in Economics / Finance from the University of Utah, a BA in Business Management with Chemistry minor from Park University, KS and served in the USAF.
